Meet the cast of the Nashville premiere of Red

Red opens in Shamblin Theatre at Lipscomb University on October 4, and we can’t wait for you to experience this electrifying show! The winner of the 2010 Tony for Best Play, Red is about art, immortality, and the battle of wills between celebrated artist Mark Rothko and his new assistant (and future rival?) Ken.

RONNIE MEEK AS MARK ROTHKO

Ronnie Meek as Mark Rothko in John Logan's RedRonnie was very familiar to Nashville theater audiences in the mid to late 1970’s before leaving the stage for a ministry calling. Over the past seven years he has returned to the stage appearing in the first two seasons of the Tennessee Shakespeare Festival and doing extensive work in acting and directing at Lamplighter’s Theatre Company where he also serves as the Executive Producer. Ronnie and his wife Margaret have three grown children, four grandchildren, and he has served for the last 24 years as Senior Pastor of Springhouse Worship and Arts Center in Smyrna.

 

JUSTIN BOCCITTO AS KEN

Justin Boccitto as Ken in John Logan's RedJustin Boccitto hails from New York City and is currently working for Lipscomb University as an adjunct faculty member and choreographer for The Pajama Game.  As an actor, his work has been seen across the country in national tours, Off-Broadway, and recently on MTV’s MADE.  Justin has worked closely with such artists as Nicole Fosse, Michael Blevins, David Rimmer, the late Theodore Mann and teaches at Broadway Dance Center and Circle in the Square Theatre School in NYC. justinboccitto.com
